(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Samsung Electronics has presented a blueprint to transform its domestic and overseas production bases into ‘AI-Driven Factories’ by 2030. This strategy aims to simultaneously enhance productivity and quality competitiveness by incorporating AI into all manufacturing processes.
The AI-Driven factory model applies AI-based decision-making to every step, from material receipt to production and shipment. Samsung Electronics plans to introduce digital twin (virtual factory) simulations across all processes to establish a system that verifies quality, production, and logistics data prior to actual operation.
Specifically, AI agents will be applied to quality, production, and logistics to strengthen data-driven analysis and establish a system for early detection of anomalies. This initiative will extend AI technology developed in the mobile business to the manufacturing sector.
The scope of AI application is also expanding in the environmental and safety sectors. The plan is to establish a monitoring system that detects risk factors in advance, thereby enhancing accident prevention and on-site safety levels.
Samsung Electronics is incorporating the concept of ‘Agentic AI’ into its manufacturing innovations. The company aims to drive intelligence across production, facilities, repairs, and logistics through AI that autonomously formulates and executes plans to achieve its goals.
Furthermore, to move beyond automation to autonomous operation, the company plans to gradually introduce humanoid manufacturing robots. This strategy aims to minimize risk by linking operating, logistics, and assembly robots with AI and applying digital twin-based environmental safety robots to infrastructure.
