(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a 627.1 billion won contract to supply power generation equipment to U.S. energy infrastructure developer Aperion Energy Group (AEG).

The deal marks the largest engine contract for power generation ever secured by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries. The company disclosed on April 22 through South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service that it had signed a supply agreement with Aperion Energy Group.

Under the contract, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will provide power generation equipment with a total capacity of 684 megawatts (MW). The facilities will be used for data center power infrastructure, where stable large-scale electricity supply is essential.

The products to be supplied are 20MW-class HiMSEN power generation engines. According to the company, HiMSEN is a large-capacity medium-speed engine designed for high output, high efficiency, fast start-up, and stable load response. It is also well suited for data center power systems that require uninterrupted 24-hour operation.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries added that HiMSEN currently holds around a 35% share of the global mid-sized marine engine market. The company is now expanding its proven marine engine technology into the power generation equipment sector.
