(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = LG Electronics reported preliminary consolidated results for the first quarter of 2026, posting revenue of KRW 23.733 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.6736 trillion.

Compared with the same period a year earlier, revenue rose 4.4% and operating profit jumped 32.9%. The company’s first-quarter revenue marked the highest ever recorded for the period.

Its core businesses, including home appliances, led the growth on the back of strong product competitiveness and solid market positioning, while the steady expansion of its business-to-business operations, such as vehicle components, also supported the earnings improvement.

Operating profit came in well above market expectations.

The strong performance was attributed to preemptive measures to respond to tariffs, including production base restructuring, as well as company-wide cost structure improvements and growth in high-margin businesses such as platform services, subscriptions, and online sales.

By business division, the home appliance segment sustained its growth momentum by targeting both the premium and volume segments, while the media and entertainment division returned to profitability compared with the previous quarter.

The vehicle component solutions business also maintained stable revenue growth backed by its order backlog, while aggressive cost-cutting efforts helped improve profitability.

By contrast, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning business posted declines in both revenue and operating profit from a year earlier amid market uncertainties.

LG Electronics said it plans to continue improving profitability through flexible business responses, despite ongoing cost pressures such as rising raw material prices and higher logistics expenses.
