(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Hyundai E&C is partnering with Mobinn, a startup that develops autonomous delivery robots, to pilot a robot delivery service for residents of apartment buildings.
This is an outdoor autonomous robot delivery service that connects residents with communities and retailers in their complexes.
During the pilot operation period, Hyundai E&C will provide a robot delivery service to the front door of each unit based on a logistics center set up in the community facility, and residents will be able to use a separately provided webpage for all orders and payments.
The delivery robot developed by Mobinn can be used for various purposes such as delivery, food delivery, and patrol, as it applies technology that does not restrict movement. The self-developed special rubber wheel structure makes it easy to overcome obstacles such as stairs, and it is equipped with a loading platform leveling function to ensure the safety of the load. It is also equipped with a 3D lidar and camera to recognize the surrounding terrain and objects, and make a comprehensive judgment of the situation to enable autonomous driving.
Hyundai E&C plans to conduct a pilot operation in an outdoor section until November and, based on the verification results, accelerate technological advancement and commercialization of services to expand the delivery range.
