(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Hanwha Systems expands its space business development area through the export of synthetic aperture radar(SAR) satellites and payloads.

Hanwha Systems announced on the 9th that it signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU) with Poland's leading defense group WB on the 4th(local time) for mid- to long-term business cooperation for space industry development in Poland and Europe.

According to a press release from WB Group, an agreement was signed between WB Group and Hanwha Systems at the 32nd International Defense Industry Exhibition. Through this agreement, the two companies will explore joint business possibilities and promote marketing activities.

Hanwha Systems participated in the 32nd Polish International Defense Industry Exhibition(MSPO 2024) held in Kielce, a city in southern Poland, from the 3rd to the 6th(local time). At this exhibition, Hanwha Systems showcased its hyper-connected solutions, including small SAR satellites.

The small SAR satellite developed by Hanwha Systems is designed to reduce launch costs by integrating a large number of electronics into a single vehicle with an integrated payload, body, and solar panels to maximize the amount of electronics on the launch vehicle.

Hanwha Systems plans to establish a bridgehead for exporting SAR satellites and payloads through joint marketing and SAR satellite business development in Europe with WB Group, Poland's largest private defense company.
