(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = LG Innotek has developed a next-generation digital key solution that significantly enhances the safety and convenience of vehicle occupants.

This product is a comprehensive package that includes not only the digital key module equipped with antennas and circuits but also the necessary software for digital key operation. The digital key, utilizing wireless communication technology, allows users to lock and unlock car doors or start the vehicle using a smartphone connected to the car.

The digital key integrates several short-range communication technologies, including BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), NFC (Near Field Communication within 10 cm), and UWB (Ultra-Wideband).

UWB, a wireless communication technology that uses a wide bandwidth frequency less prone to signal interference compared to BLE, plays a critical role in accurately determining the location of the smartphone connected to the digital key. LG Innotek has further enhanced this technology with its proprietary algorithm, enabling precise detection of the smartphone's location within a 10 cm margin of error.

LG Innotek aims to commence mass production of this next-generation digital key solution by 2027.
