(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = SK C&C develops smart machines targeting secondary battery production plants and seeks global expansion into North America and Europe.

SK C&C signed an MOU with Hana Technology on the 28th to jointly develop customized smart machines for secondary battery production plants.

Hana Technology is a secondary battery equipment company established in 2000 and has recently been pursuing business diversification, including upgrading process equipment, core all-solid-state battery equipment, and waste battery recycling equipment.

Prior to the agreement, the two companies conducted a line performance test by installing SK C&C’s ‘AI+Edge technology’ on Hana Technology’s main equipment.

The two companies plan to jointly develop an integrated smart machine targeting Hana Technology’s secondary battery customers in North America and Europe and advance into the global market.

“Smart mechanization of secondary battery production equipment enables us to analyse detailed manufacturing variables that are difficult to grasp in the field and build a safe production environment, as well as improve yields and reduce manufacturing costs,” said head of SK C&C’s Digital Factory Business Unit. “Together with Hana Technology, we will actively target global secondary battery production plants to create a new successful model for exporting digital factories.”
