(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Hanwha Systems announced the launch of a small SAR satellite made by its technology at the southern sea of Jeju Island in 2023 with support from the Korean government.

The Korean government has transferred satellite technologies to private companies to help them develop and broaden the Korean space industry to new space.

The coming launch was expected to become the signal for the world announcing the great leap of the Korean space industry, “K-space,” driven by the private sector.

The small SAR satellite developed by Hanwha Systems is a high-resolution Earth observation satellite that has incorporated payload, body, and solar panels. It is designed to load as many things as possible on the payload so it can sharply cut the expenses.

Hanwha Systems says it will control the satellite, acquire and analyze real-time Earth images through its ground control center, and build its data for satellite development and usage after successfully launching it.
