(Seoul=NSP News Agency) hYUNJIN KIM Journalist = The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) said newly registered imported vehicles in August were 23,850, up 11.3% from 21423 in July or 7.5% from 22,116 YOY as some imported car brands secured supply.

However, accumulated registration was 176,282 as of August, which is a 9.3% (or 194,262) decrease from the corresponding period.

When sorting the registered foreign vehicles in August by brandBMW 7,303, Mercedes-Benz 5,940, Audi 2,310, Chevrolet 1,067, Volkswagen 1,043, MINI 947, Toyota 713, and Porsche 677.

Also, newly registered vehicles wereFord 642, Polestar 553, Volvo 525, Jeep 496, Lexus 411, Honda 327, Land Rover 309, Lincoln 183, Bentley 91, Peugeot 91, Cadillac 84, Lamborghini 45, Maserati 41, Rolls-Royce 29, Jaguar 19, and DS 4.

By countryEurope 19,927 (83.6%), the United States 2,472 (10.4%), Japan 1451 (6.1%). And by fuel typesgasoline 12,649 (53.0%), hybrid 5,664 (23.7%), diesel 2,859 (12.0%), electricity 1,699 (7.1%), and plug-in-hybrid 979 (4.1%).

By buyerindividual 14,321 or 60.0% and business 9529 or 40.0%.
