(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = On the 28th, Daejeon City installed the COVID-19 ‘AI Automatic Quarantine System’ at four multi-use facilities, including the entrance gate of Daejeon City Hall and the government office station, and started pilot operation for two months.

The ‘AI Automatic Quarantine System’ is a system installed in multi-use facilities(toilets, etc.) among public property buildings.

The system can set the cycle of air disinfection and quarantine in advance, and in case of an emergency, it has a function to judge itself and enforce compulsory quarantine.

It is also designed to take preventive measures after notifying and predicting the confirmed patients’ movements in connection with the data on confirmed patients’ movements in the epidemiological survey data hub of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA).

During the pilot operation period, the city plans to create a nationwide diffusion model by analyzing the effects through measurement of changes in bacteria, organic matter, and pollution level, and data collection through smart sensors(temperature, humidity, CO₂, VOCS), and solving problems that occur in order to improve functions and improve performance.

The ‘AI Automatic Quarantine System’ was developed by KAIST Professor, Jang Ho Jung’s research team and 11 companies by applying the latest technologies such as IoT, spatial technology, and digital twin owned by KAIST.
