(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = The US International Trade Commission(ITC) again postponed the final ruling on a lawsuit between LG Energy Solutions(formerly LG Chem’s battery business unit) and SK Innovation for infringement of trade secrets on electric vehicle batteries until February 10 next year.

The U.S. ITC announced on the 9th (local time) that it would delay its decision on the battery dispute by two months to February 10th next year.

This delay is the third postponed from October 5 to October 26, and then to December 10, and then to February 10 next year.

The ITC did not provide a specific reason for the delay. However, given the fact that the ITC Committee extended the lengthy period of two months, especially over three rounds, it can be seen that the committee is looking very closely at the issues, such as the infringement of trade secrets and the impact on the US economy.

In response, SK Innovation said, “We will remain faithful to the lawsuit regardless of postponement and act fairly.” “However, we hope that the two companies will make wise judgments to eliminate the uncertainty caused by the prolonged lawsuit for three years so that they can end the dispute as soon as possible and focus on the business itself.”

"As more than 50 ITC rulings have been postponed due to the impact of corona this year, we believe it is for the same reason,” and “We’ll participate in a lawsuit with integrity.” said LG Energy Solutions.
