(Seoul=NSP News Agency) jeonghyun go Journalist = SK Engineering & Construction Co. was selected as the preferred bidder of TfL,(Transport for London) for Silvertown Tunnel project.
The project is worth about 1 billion pounds and includes two tunnels that are 1.4km long and 12.4m in diameter with one-way double lanes to be passing through Thames River partially in order to connect Silvertown and Greenwich.
SK will be in charge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) by building a consortium with Ferrovial Agroman from Spain and BAM Nuttall from the UK.
SK will participate in the project with 20 percent stake and go forward for building twin-typed Underriver Tunnels in London where the traffic is so heavy that they might have difficulties in implementing the construction.
SK plans to complete agreements for implementation and finance the second half of the year. The operating authority for SK will be by 2025 from when it begins constructing. Afterward, RiverLinx will be running it for 25 years.
