Kyu Won Lee, CTO at TID Corporation

(Seoul=NSP News Agency) BINNA KIM Journalist = Kyu Won Lee, CTO of TID Corporation, cited the strength of ‘envicase’ as ‘technological skills.’ R&D for services is the very core of this trendy business. Lee emphasized that ‘technological environment’ is of utmost importance to achieve the vision of ‘envicase’.

Lee frequently mentioned ‘Importance of development environment’ during the interview with NSPNA. “Technological foundation is necessary to pursue and achieve our business as a new conceptual magazine for lifestyle based on shopping and such stuffs.” Lee said “Most importantly, we should nurture a culture and environment that proactively bring in talents in key areas.” This year, TID is constantly striving to recruit talents in reference to that.

‘envicase’ is social media for sharing personal information about shopping, which has been developed by a South Korea’s startup, TID Corporation. It is the shopping community also known as interest-oriented social media where trend setter including normal users can share their collections and shopping items.

TID puts on a slogan as ‘your personal show room’. The key difference among other social media for web clipper like Instagram is that users can upload photos and display their own collections.

TID has discovered a niche market in a traditional magazine market, where digitalization is yet to begin fundamentally. “Everyone can become an editor and reporter in ‘envicase’.” Lee said “While general magazines written by editors circulate monthly, we move around a lot faster with amazing individuals sharing real-time information.”

At an early stage, TID paid the most attention to the quality of contents, rather than marketing in conjunction with the service value and its vision. “There are many apps providing similar services with ours, but often the content’s quality was not satisfactory, Lee said “So at an early stage, we focused on improving quality of our service’s identity and contents to attract more users.”

Meanwhile he told “Social power becomes more and more powerful. Both the subscribers and followers of current users are all our potential users. Our aim is to unleash their potentials.”

Technological environment for ‘envicase’ is unique compared to other startups such as implementing an all-Cloud environment. This means programmer and developers can freely install the PC, regardless of time and location, and access software from the PC. Although there is a trend for using Cloud environment among local startups, TID is going further by using Cloud service for their platforms and services.

“Although there has been elimination of expense for installing hardware, costs for installing software were still required. Our process is trying to minimize that costs,” Lee said “Which will be used in improving the quality of our code.”

‘envicase’ has established pioneering technological environment, which comprises of PaaS/SaaS-oriented Cloud architecture and continuous deployment, while proactively introducing code review, automation testing, distant facilitation autonomous working, and aim-oriented systemization.

It is very rare that initial startups having continuous deployment as it not only requires technological skills, but also heavy input of resources including time and money.

However, Lee does not consider the company’s unique technological environment is special. “The infrastructure that I would like to develop has already studied many times and become popular in advanced Western software industry.” He said “A key point is that we need to prepare now before the take-off to ensure there is no technical problem though TID is now a startup.”

“We are going to make a new type of magazine media in digital market.” Lee said “There needs to be an aggressive investments and programmer-oriented culture, which can maximize the capacity of our brightest young minds. I want to prove how important these investments are to achieve our vision.”
