(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = On the 22nd, Hanwha Ocean signed a Master Ship Repair Agreement(MSRA) with the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command.
With this agreement, Hanwha Ocean has officially acquired the qualification to participate in MRO business bidding for ships specified by the U.S. Navy for the next five years.
The signing of this agreement is evaluated as proving Hanwha Ocean’s ship technology and maintenance capabilities in the global market. In addition, it is an important achievement that solidifies Hanwha Ocean’s position in the global defense market by strengthening cooperation with the U.S. Navy. By acquiring the MSRA this time, Hanwha Ocean has secured a solid bridgehead for entering the world’s largest defense market.
MSRA is an agreement between the U.S. government and general shipbuilders for the maintenance and repair of U.S. ships. It is an important certification that ensures quality and reliability in the maintenance of U.S. Navy ships.
Hanwha Ocean recently acquired the Philly Shipyard in the U.S., which has the largest commercial dock in the U.S., and will utilize it as a place to enter the U.S. ship market and perform ship MRO.
