(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = POSCO E&C has developed a ‘high-rigidity reinforcement pile press-in construction method and quality control technology specialized for remodeling’ through joint research with geotechnical specialist GeoPro.

The newly developed ‘remodeling-specific high-rigidity reinforcement pile steel pipe press-in construction method’ technology by POSCO E&C uses a small hydraulic device. Therefore, reinforcement piles can be easily installed in underground spaces, adjacent sections of walls, etc. without space restrictions. In addition, since it is not a large piece of equipment, problems related to safety accidents that occur when moving the equipment have also been improved.

In particular, since piles with a diameter more than three times that of existing reinforcement piles are inserted for construction, the rigidity of the piles is increased, which allows for a reduction in material volume and a reduction in construction costs and construction periods.

The ‘high-strength reinforcement pile quality control technology’ developed along with this is a technology that quantitatively measures the pile’s press load, verticality, and settlement by attaching a sensor to the pile during reinforcement pile construction. Unlike the existing method of verifying the quality of only some piles, it can improve the quality completion by evaluating the bearing capacity, rigidity, and verticality of the entire reinforcement pile and analyzing the relationship between the rigidity and press load.
