(Seoul=) = Samsung set its pioneering position in the low-power, high-performance DRAM market with its newly developed 10.7 Gbps LPDDR, LPDDR5X.
The smallest chip among the 12-nano LPDDR DRAMs is a low-power, high-performance memory solution ideal for the on-device AI era. Various applications, including ▲AI PCs, ▲AI accelerators, ▲servers, and ▲automotive electronic parts beyond the mobile sector, will largely adopt it.
Compared to its predecessors, the product has improved ▲performance by 25% and ▲capacity by 30% and supports up to 32 GB with a single mobile DRAM package.
Samsung applied an optimized power variation and expanded low-power mode intervals technologies to improve the power consumption by 25% compared to its previous portfolio.
Thus, it can provide prolonged battery life for mobile devices and reduced energy in data processing for servers, reducing the total cost of ownership.
Samsung said it will validate the new LPDDR5X DRAM in collaboration with application processor mobile companies and mass produce it in the second half of 2024.
