(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Seoul Semiconductor has announced that the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf ruled a ban on sales of multiple LED manufacturers' products infringing on Seoul Semiconductor Co.'s patents.
On the list of the banned products distributed by Mouser Electronics, a global distribution company, were LED products of LED Engin merged by OSRAM GmbH and of Everlight Electronics.
Last year in July 2022, the German Supreme court dismissed a patent invalidation lawsuit filed by companies accused for the infringement of Seoul Semiconductor's technology, ruling that Seoul Semiconductor holds the original patent for the technology.
Moreover, the effect of Unitary Patents will be simultaneously applied to 17 countries starting from June this year even if a ruling on patent infringement is obtained in one country in Europe.
As a result, Seoul Semiconductor and its affiliates have successfully won a total of 14 patent lawsuits in the the US and European courts, banning manufacuters and sellers that have infringed on their patents over the past 5 year.
