(Seoul=NSP News Agency) hYUNJIN KIM Journalist = Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone, the Galaxy Z series, is sold more than consensus, leading the new mobile phone category, foldable phone to grow further.

The total sales of the Galaxy Z series this year surged four times YoY.

Market research firm, Counterpoint Research estimated that the size of the global foldable phone market would grow three times than the previous year. Samsung’s foldable phone sales growth was well above the growth estimates of the foldable phone market.

In particular, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 caught the eyes of global consumers after launching in October, sold more in a month than the total number of Samsung foldable phones sold last year.

The notable thing was that more smartphone users formerly using other brands transitioned to Galaxy phones than that of other components, thanks to Samsung’s innovative mobile technologies and designs.

In Samsung Elec’s surveys, Galaxy Z Flip 3 users chose ▲stylish design ▲portability ▲innovative form factor, and ▲cover display which does not require opening the device as the reason for making the purchase. For Galaxy Z Fold 3 users chose ▲massive 7.6-inch display ▲multitasking performance, and ▲productive features, including S Pen.
