(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = Samsung Electronics has released Exynos W920, a processor for wearable devices based on the latest 5nm process.
Exynos W920 has been applied with the latest EUV process and has improved performance and power efficiency compared to existing products.
In addition, by applying FO-PLP and SIP-ePOP technologies, PMIC, mobile DRAM(LPDDR4X), and eMMC memory along with a processor were implemented in a compact package optimized for wearable devices.
Samsung Electronics installed Arm’s low-power Cortex A55 CPU core and Mali-G68 GPU core in Exynos W920. Compared to previous products, Exynos W920 has improved CPU performance by about 20% and graphics performance by up to 10 times. When mounted on a smart watch, it can also support 3D watch faces and smooth screen transitions.
In addition, Samsung Electronics has also added Cortex-M55 for low-power displays. Exynos W920 supports LTE wireless communication for fast outdoor communication and GNSS L1 required for accurate location information, enabling various services in smartwatches.
Exynos W920 supports a new integrated platform developed jointly by Samsung and Google, and will be installed in the next model of the Galaxy Watch.
