(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = The Korea Consumer Federation announced the results of analyzing 5G-related consumer consultations at the 1372 Consumer Consultation Center for one year after its commercialization in April 2019.
According to the Korea Consumer Federation, a total of 2,055 cases of 5G-related consumer consultations were received, of which 702 cases(34%) were ‘contract termination’, followed by 590 cases(29%) related to quality.
Looking at the consultations related to the contract termination, they wanted to terminate the contract due to poor quality, such as the phenomenon of call disconnection and LTE switching, although they paid more expensive fees than before to use the 5G service.
In the number of 5G subscribers by mobile carrier, SK Telecom accounted for 45 percent of the total with 2,407,413, KT with 1,622,015(30%), and LG U+ with 1,33,953(25%).
The carrier with the most consumer complaints related to 5G service was KT(33%), followed by SK Telecom(25%) and LG U+(24%).
