In order to do so, the company pursues strategic collaboration of open innovation method with a global professional enterprise which possesses core technologies and business capabilities related to ESS and establishes a market-leading position.
Hyundai Motor Group concluded a strategic partnership convention with Wärtsilä of Finland, the global energy enterprise, on June 26 for acceleration of ‘recycled battery ESS’ development and security of its business.
Ji Yeong Jo, vice president of Strategic Technology Headquarters of Hyundai Motor Group said, “As proliferation of environmental pollution, insecure energy supply and demand, etc get worse, ESS is spotlighted as a new energy industry” and “it is expected that the collaboration between Hyundai Motor Group and Wärtsilä will lead to activate electric vehicle supply as well as develop future growth engine in a new market of ESS, recycled batter.”
