(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = Samsung Electronics started operating the factory with a shipment ceremony at the new home appliance factory in Newberry County, South Carolina on November 12, attended by Kim Hyun-seok, head of Samsung Electronics consumer electronics (CE) and Henry McMaster, South Carolina Governor.
Samsung Electronics will invest about $ 380 million in the plant by 2020, producing about 1 million washing machines annually and responding to the demand in the US market.
Samsung Electronics donated its first washing machine from the factory to the Freedom & Hope Foundation that supports South Carolina veterans and incurable children, the Boys Farms that supports Children with a difficult family environment ,and the Newberry County Museum.
