(Seoul=NSP News Agency) Hanah Choi Journalist = Sk Telecom (CEO DongHyeon, Jang) demonstrated cooperation in developing commercialized evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast service (eMBMS)-based real time Group Communication System Enabler (GCSE) technology with a global network equipment company Nokia

Sk Telecom is planning that The new group communication technology which considers as a core technology of the disaster communication network will be deployed in projects to build public safety long-term networks at home and abroad.

This newly developed GCSE technology is a many-to-one channel type that provides a real time communication. Compared with the one-to-one channel type, its frequency band is narrow so that large-scale of group communication is possible using least amount of network source.

Especially, the two companies developed software with MCE functions that is supporting eMBMS and can be used in the base station. Major global manufacturers are using this software type, which is expected to have more economic efficiency compared with the existing type that constructs a separate MCE function system In order to secure compatibility with the GCSE global standard.

In addition, the two companies let excellent Korean small/medium businesses such as UANGEL and Cyber Tel Bridge participate in this project in order to accomplish mutual growth with them. At the same time, they will join Nokia’s mutual growth program, which will be a good opportunity for them to make an entrée into the global market.
